Statement of Purpose

Delta Lake Bible Conference Center exists for the purpose of presenting programs which foster Christian spiritual birth and growth in individuals and families, both younger and older. These programs encompass the areas of worship, instruction, service, and fellowship, all flavored by the distinctives of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.

Here at Delta we want everyone to "...attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Eph 4:13 This we endeavor to accomplish through the medium of retreats, conferences, and camping experiences.

The CM&A is committed to world missions, stressing the fullness of Christ in personal experience, building the Church, and preaching the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

As an integral part of the Northeastern District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance we stand on the same Statement of Faith as follows:

Statement of Faith

    * There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

    * Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on High, as our great High Priest.

    * The Holy Spirit is a divine person, sent to indwell guide, teach, empower the believer, and convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.

    * The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and conduct.

    * Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God; he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

    * It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly, being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service. This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion.

    * Provision is made in the redemptive work of Christ for the healing of the mortal body. Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the church in this present age.

    * The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Head of the Body which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations.

    * There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust: for the former, a resurrection unto life; for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment.

    * The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent and will be personal, visible, and premillennial. This is the believer's blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service.

By typing my name I indicate my agreement with the Statement of Purpose and the Statement of Faith. The information given above is true and correct. I authorize Delta Lake to contact all former employers and to further inquire as to any information given by me on this application.

Some of Our Statement of Policies - From the 2009 Staff Manual

If you need to call and talk with someone about any of the items listed below, please call 315-336-7210 or email rickb@deltalake.org . Please read these over and initial, that you have read them and can agree to them.

I. General Policies

 Initial

 1. The Director and staff here have a purpose for everything. Hundreds of details have been thought through in advance. Some things may be missed...that’s possible, but we try to do our best with the background of experience we have had.

Please try to follow the plan given you in a gracious, patient and consistent manner. “You” make this camp effective...but “You” can also become the biggest problem. Those who don’t understand or who don’t have all the information may gripe, gossip, grumble and grouch. Motives get twisted, seeds of discord are sown, negative undercurrents are spread, the devil’s work is done...all with very “righteous” motives.

While some people specialize in creating problems, we ask that you vow to the Lord right now to be part of the solution.

Be loyal to the Executive Director, the Program Directors, Food Service Manager, Facilities Manager, Deans, Counselors, and others over you. See yourself and everyone else on the staff as part of the team functioning together in unity to accomplish God’s purposes in young lives.

 2. All staff members are to be loyal to the aims, policies and regulations of the Delta Lake Bible       Conference Center. Please bring all suggestions and criticisms to any program leader. These will convey the same to the Executive Director. Any and all will be taken under consideration.

 3. All staff members are to abide by the program schedule and are expected to be on time.

 4. We are representatives of Jesus Christ and Delta Lake Bible Conference Center. Therefore, in keeping with the Apostle Paul’s advice to “do all things in moderation.” Body Piercing (s), other than ears, Body Art that cannot be covered, and outrageous hair coloring do not fit this image. You only have one chance at a first impression with the camper’s parents.

XI. Disciplinary Procedures

 1. By the help of God each individual is expected to promote among their fellow workers a spirit of unity and prayer in resolving any differences, difficulties or misunderstandings that may arise in facing the common task.

 2. If at any time a staff member is unable to conscientiously cooperate with the practices and policies of Delta Lake Bible Conference Center, or disagrees with our statement of faith, or can no longer work in harmony with other members of the staff, it shall be the honorable course for that member to ask to be released from the ministry and appointment of Delta Lake Bible Conference Center.

I will agree to be Flexible, to not be critical of the disciplinary procedures of the leadership, it is not up to me to second guess or to questions their authority; the Director knows what works and what doesn’t (he’s been through it), I will be supportive of the ministry at Delta Lake Bible Conference Center, regardless of any grievances’ I may have at any point. If I have a concern, I will go to those in authority or the individual, before discussing it amongst my peers.

You will need to sign and return one copy; the other is for your records. If you decide at this point you will not be available to work for us, please mark that on the contract and return it to us. We will also mail you additional forms (medical, etc.) that will need to be filled out and brought with you when you come to Orientation (June 28-July 1, 2010).
