Skills
and Certifications
As a part of our summer program,
campers choose two skill classes to attend during their week at Delta.
All counselors and some other staff are assigned to lead, assist,
teach, or supervise a skill class. The following information will help
us to use your skills in the appropriate classes. Some classes require
a leader with formal training while others only require a general
knowledge of the skill.
Check box 1 for those you are
qualified to lead, teach, or supervise, 2 for those you are qualified
to assist, or 3 for activities in which you have participated.
*Certifications –
A
copy of all certifications (ex. Lifeguard/Nurse) should be e-mailed to
jennc@deltalake.org
Please list any instruments you play:
Please
list any seminars, classes, or training you have had in the above areas.
Application Process:
We
must receive your full application, references and complete a
background check required by the New York State Health Department
before we can officially accept you on staff. It is important that
your references come from people who know you personally. Once we
have your application, references and social security number we will
notify you as to whether or not you have been accepted on staff, and,
if you are accepted, the nature of your service at Delta Lake. If
you have not heard from us in a reasonable time, there is a very good
chance that your application is incomplete. It is your
responsibility to see that your application is completed in a timely
manner. If accepted, two copies of your contract will be enclosed. You
will need to sign and return one copy; the other is for your
records. If you decide at this point you will not be available to
work for us, please mark that on the contract and return it to us. We
will also mail you additional forms (medical, etc.) that will need
to be filled out and brought with you when you come to Orientation
(June 20-26, 2008). If you have any questions about the status of
your application, or problems with the application or application
process, please feel free to contact the log cabin office by phone or
e-mail: rickb@deltalake.org
Statement
of Purpose
Delta
Lake Bible Conference Center exists for the
purpose of presenting programs which foster Christian spiritual birth
and growth in individuals and families, both younger and older. These
programs encompass the areas of worship, instruction, service, and
fellowship, all flavored by the distinctives of the Christian and
Missionary Alliance.
Here at Delta we want everyone to
"...attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Eph 4:13
This we endeavor to accomplish through the medium of retreats,
conferences, and camping experiences.
The CM&A is committed to
world missions, stressing the fullness of Christ in personal
experience, building the Church, and preaching the Gospel to the ends
of the earth.
As an integral part of the
Northeastern District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance we stand
on the same Statement of Faith as follows:
Statement
of Faith
- There is one God, who is infinitely perfect,
existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was
conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on
the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him
are justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead
according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty
on High, as our great High Priest.
- The Holy Spirit is a divine person, sent to indwell
guide, teach, empower the believer, and convince the world of sin, of
righteousness, and of judgment.
- The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally
given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of
His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only
rule of Christian faith and conduct.
- Man was originally created in the image and
likeness of God; he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both
physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature,
are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the
atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- It is the will of God that each believer should be
filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly, being separated
from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby
receiving power for holy living and effective service. This is both a
crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer
subsequent to conversion.
- Provision is made in the redemptive work of Christ
for the healing of the mortal body. Prayer for the sick and anointing
with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the church
in this present age.
- The Church consists of all those who believe on the
Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Head of the Body which has been
commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching
the gospel to all nations.
- There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just
and of the unjust: for the former, a resurrection unto life; for the
latter, a resurrection unto judgment.
- The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is
imminent and will be personal, visible, and premillennial. This is the
believer's blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to
holy living and faithful service.
