A Note From the Director

With summer fast approaching and the ever present need for a savior, what better place to get teaching and instruction than in a camp setting.

This year perhaps is challenging to find the time or the money to come yourself, or send a child to camp, but what can God do? Anything but sin! Lay the needs before the King of Kings and wait on him.

Waiting on Him can cause an anxiety complex of its own, be patient, even the world took six days for God to create!!

Sorry for long delay in getting something out to you folks….that winter camp was a blast, check out the pictures on this site. With the offerings form Winter Camp we are able to buy two sit on Kayaks.

The staff and I have been to five colleges and recruiting was great, we met many new students that are considering summer ministry at Delta.

If you’re considering using your talents here is a list of things that would help;

Plumbing is always a necessity

Electrical knowledge would be helpful

Tree trimming

Painting

Carpenters

And if you’re good at office stuff I’m sure Jenn and Nadine can fix that.

How can you help?

Come have a prayer walk on the grounds for the summer ministry (watch for those pesky snow piles)

Well, if you were procrastinating your decision for Winter retreat your decision has been made for you…..we're full both weekends with a waiting list!!! But it’s not too late to register for summer camps! You can check out all the summer fun on the youth camp pages….. Let’s not procrastinate this time.

How can you pray
That we have a safe winter retreat
We have enough snow!!
Life changing decisions are made

How can you help

Give us a call and see how you can help out this summer
Find a youth and encourage them to come to camp

How was your Holidays ? I’m guessing that you overfilled the time with travel, family, friends, and don’t forget church plays and special services……I’m having an anxiety attack just putting it into print.

Well this morning as I was coming to camp, the sky was lit up brilliant orange, I ran to get the camera and captured this shot, that’s when it hit me just how quiet and peaceful this moment was.

God is good and knows just what we need and….. when!

How to help;

Pray for recruiting of summer staff

Give financially, Camper scholarships is a great gift for someone you may never meet

Put Delta on your “I gotta go help out calendar”

Send camper for the winter retreat ( you can get the details form the web site)

Here we are;…. in all the preparations at this season for guests, company, family…..you know, those things that happen because we all have the time off. My prayer is that we take the time for our Savior maybe not because we have the time, but because we make the time, after all He did take time for you.

How can you pray?

- With thanksgiving! The dining hall floor is done, check out the pictures on the cottagers corner.

- Recruiting for summer staff will begin next month,

- Safety for all as they travel for the holidays

Psalm 27:14 (NIV) Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

How many times have we used those words or for that matter quoted this verse?

I had to look to see what Webster has to say about waiting;

“Waiting - 1. to remain in readiness or anticipates 2. to be ready ”

I’ve got to tell you, I’ve done that while hunting!! But let’s see what happens when it’s used in scripture, remember we are in a state of readiness.

Matthew 22:4
“Then he sent some more servants and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’”

While you’re waiting are you ready?

Some things to pray for:

· Work out internships for summer workers

· Promoting Delta to the churches

How can you help?

· Have you considered giving financially?

· Become the camp promoter in your church
